To restart the momentum, here’s a quickie post!

Quick cooking tip: freeze blue cheese and then grate it with a microplane onto your food.

The blue cheese will be much more evenly distributed over your food and adding the blue cheese last as a garnish will accentuate its presence too. This trick will probably help you cut back on the amount of cheese you need as well!

Sound like a two bird one stone deal right? You use less for the same flavour punch!

Especially if you need to watch your cheese intake and possibly cut back, this trick will make your cheese quota stretch without missing out on the cheese flavour.

Give it a try!

Fish is one of my favourite protein to work with. It cooks fast, tastes great and is a great source of heart-healthy omega-3 oils (abundant in fatty fishes like salmon and mackerel).

However, the one thing I dislike about working with fish is the smell that lingers on my hand after I handle fishes. No matter how well I clean my hands with soap, the smell just stubbornly stays and bothers me.

So I googled ways to get rid of the fish smell, tried different tricks and came up with the best 3 tricks to get rid of the fishy smell.

Rub a small amount of toothpaste onto your wet hands, rub your hands together like you would regularly with soup and rinse off.

After washing thoroughly your hands with soap, squeeze some lemon or lime juice onto your hands, rub your hands together and rinse off the juice. (Beware if you have a open cut though, the lemon juice will sting!)

While washing your hands, rub your hands with some stainless steel, such as the faucet head or the sides of metal kitchen sink. Compared with the previous two tips, this one is the less effective one; but for those occasions where you cannot find toothpaste or lemon juice, this trick may just do the trick!

How do you remove fish smell off your hands? If you’ve avoided preparing fish before because of the smell, would you be more willing to work with fish now?
