Ever since my bro came back from his friend’s birthday dinner at Tandoori Kona, he’s been raving about how great the food taste! He said that this restaurant completed changed his impression of Indian food. He said I HAVE to go try it.

So finally, last week, for our special family dinner, we decided to try this restaurant. Considering the many positive reviews on different foodie websites and the first-hand experience from my bro, I was really looking forward to a delicious meal.

And the food lived up to my expectations! Flavours were full-bodied, very aromatic and just very vivid. We ordered four entrees to share: Chicken Village Curry (top left) , Lamb Roganjosh (bottom left), Goat Curry (top right) and Butter Chicken (bottom right).

I enjoyed the Butter Chicken the most. The chicken breast pieces were moist and tender and the sauce was creamy and just really tasty. I could just really eat it by the spoonful.

The lamb was also cooked to perfection. It was tender and just slightly gamey, which I enjoyed. In comparison, the goat was more chewy and had a bouncy texture almost, definitely not tough. Both were well-seasoned. I would say they taste better than most traditional lamb/goat dishes that I’ve had in the past.

After tasting the three previous dishes, the flavours of the roganjosh was just slightly too tomatoey for my liking. It was a hint too sharp.

The best companion to these delicious entrees is, without a doubt, naan bread. The naan that we got was pipping hot from the oven and so light and fluffy…just SO good! We each had about 2 large pieces and still couldn’t get enough of it.

Jasmine rice was also served with the meal but after the big pieces of naan, it was tasty but naan bread was, hands down, much more popular.

We also ordered mango lassi and plain sweet lassi. They were rich and creamy and paired well with our meal. After each few bites of food, a sip of the lassi would tame the heat and refresh the palate.

We ended up taking leftovers home. Bro finished it the next day and he said it tasted even better!
