Hi! My name is Stephanie and I’m a Registered Dietitian in beautiful Vancouver, BC. 

By day, I’m a dietitian in the hospital taking care of the acutely ill patients. By night, I’m a home cook and a blogger that just wants to share all the culinary adventures and other exciting tidbits with my readers online.

The mission of this blog is to offer healthy recipes and practical nutrition tips to help people achieve and maintain a well-balanced lifestyle.

I didn’t always have an harmonious relationship with food. When I was in high school, it was more of a love and hate relationship. Instead of enjoying food that I wanted, I struggled with different short-term diets and restricted myself from eating “bad” food. I was never truly happy until I slowly transformed my approach from dieting to healthy eating. It is really through my own struggles with food that I truly see there is a need to rewire people’s relationships with food.

When I looked outward for solutions to help manage my weight and health, I neglected my inner voice and I didn’t really know what my body needed. However, when I started to be aware of what my body was telling me and responding appropriately to those cues, I felt much better and I eventually established into my healthy weight. Through my own journey, I experienced first-hand why “diets” don’t work and how mindful eating is truly the philosophy to help everyone reconnect with their bodies and take better care of themselves and eventually achieve optimal well-being. 

Learning to cook has been one of the best tools in getting me to eat better. Cooking my own food gives me much more freedom over what I eat and has really helped to expand my culinary horizon. I like to try out new recipes and play with different food combinations. I also enjoy tweaking recipes to make them more nourishing without sacrificing flavour. Not all my cooking aventures go well, but with successful creations, I love to share them with the whole world and show them that everyone can easily make delicious and nutritious food!

Learning to embrace healthy, mindful eating and engaging in an active lifestyle has been the greatest gifts that I have given to myself, and now I’ll like extend that gift offer to you.
